Test Knitters
Thank you for your interest in becoming a test knitter! Check out the information below to see if you're a good fit to be a test knitter.
Q: What does it mean to become a test knitter?
You will have the opportunity to receive a free pattern and knit the item before the design is released for sale. You are testing the design to ensure that the item fits as intended and that the pattern is written clearly. As a note, yarn is not included when test-knitting.
Q: Is there a deadline?
Yes, typically I allow 6 weeks.
Q: What does the due date mean?
The garment and feedback form must be finished by the day specified. The launch of the pattern will be a few days following.
Q: Do I need to supply feedback to the pattern?
Yes! The tester feedback form must be completed by the test due date. Feedback is always encouraged so I can ensure clarity on the released patterns!

Q: Can I ask questions while I'm test-knitting?
Of course, questions are aways welcome! I will provide a contact email for you to use if you have questions about the pattern.
Q: Do I need to take pictures?
Yes, please! Not only would I LOVE to see your finished photos, I may request that you email your pictures to me to show others how the pattern looks finished.
Q: What do you look for in a test knitter?
Someone who has a love of knitting, and preferably has a public Instagram profile for the vetting process -- this will allow me to see your other finished knitting projects!

Q: I want to change an element to the design, can I do that?
For initial pattern testing, I prefer no changes to the pattern itself, as the pattern should be tested as it's written to ensure the final product matches with the written pattern. I try to use budget-friendly yarns for my patterns, but you're also free to choose a different yarn, as long as it fits within the same yarn weight outlined in the technical specifications.
